hooking up
an incredibly ambiguous phrase that drives me absolutely insane when people use it.
john hooked up with mary. (so what did they actually do? did they meet at the park? did they talk? or did they duke like v–gr–injected rabbits? who knows…)
any form of getting some type of action, such as, making out, feeling things, or oral pleasure or s-x between 2 people. “a hook up” is whats referred to as doing those things when your not going out with anyone
guy:”yo, i hooked up with kristin last night!”
guy 2:”nice, what did you do?”
guy1:”we only got to third”

1. to engage in romantic/s-xual activity with another at a party/gathering.
usually, one or both partners are under the influence of alcohol, or another judgement imparing drug. “hooking up” usually involves little or no emotional attachment.
2. an exchange. to give/recieve/share an -sset, or something of value, usually something that is tangible.
“hooking up” is most commonly used in reference to the sale/exchange of illict drugs.
1. sally is always hooking up with guys at parties.
2. sally is hooking me up with some crack later this afternoon.
hooking up has come to define s-xual relationships for most of today’s teens and young women. it can mean anything from kissing and touching to oral s-x or intercourse. vagueness is its hallmark. “a girl can say, ‘i hooked up with so-and-so,’ and no one knows what she did. it protects you and makes you a player at the same time,” -aparicio (soph-m-re at boston university)
i was just hooking up with this guy and man did it blow my mind.
in australia hooking up just mean kissing (with tongue. so basically you go to a party, mingle with some people and then u spot a cute guy/girl and start talking and flirting or watever and then you guys kiss. thats hooking up. usually isn’t followed by anything after that night.
hooking up = fun times with random hotties.
casual s-xual activity. s-x while not in a relationship with eachother. similar to a “one-night stand,” but it can happen repetedly. as long as the two people are not serious about eachother, and they have s-x, it’s hooking up.
me and john hooked-up last night.
did you and mary hook-up at the party?
we aren’t going out or anything– we just hook-up from time to time.
how long have they been hooking up?
for middle school: making out.
for high school and beyond: any type of s-xual activities usually refering to s-x.
middle: dude me and sharon were hooking up at the movies last night.
high school: oh man at that party me and alexa were hooking up in the bathroom.
