intersex
a congenital anomaly of the reproductive and s-xual system. inters-x people are born with external genitalia, internal reproductive organs, and/or endocrine system that are different from most other people. there is no single “inters-x body;” it encomp-sses a wide variety of conditions that do not have anything in common except that they are deemed “abnormal” by society. what makes inters-x people similar is their experiences of medicalization, not biology. inters-x is not an ident-ty. while some inters-x people do reclaim it as part of their ident-ty, it is not a freely chosen category of gender–it can only be reclaimed. most inters-x people identify as men or women, just like everybody else.
the inters-x society of north america (isna) is devoted to systemic change to end shame, secrecy, and unwanted genital surgeries performed on people born with an anatomy that someone decided is not standard for male or female. we urge physicians to use a model of care that is patient-centered, rather than concealment-centered.
the act of having s-x with someone via the internet by thinking of it really hard and then yelling inters-x! and they’ll lose their virginity without even having to stick their uh-ohs in your woopsie, or vise-versa.
you can do this by sending any kind of computer message via im, facebook/mysp-ce comments, emails, etc. etc. etc.
computer condoms should be used, so as not to impregnate an inters-xed female, because they will actually give birth to a computer. not a good time.
