an excellent music genre that used to have a humane, mature fanbase only a couple years back. these fans still exist, but most of the fandom has been taken over by anime freaks which has ticked off most original j-rock fans. these anime fans only listen to dir en grey (actually, some haven’t even heard a dir en grey song in their life) and claim to listen to malice mizer and moi dix mois, just so they can obsess over mana who they clearly know nothing about (that sucks considerably, as mana is a great, talented musician, not just a pretty face). they claim to be huge j-rock fans after only naming these three bands, yet have never heard of others like amadeus, boom boom satellites, soft ballet, or blam honey.
another mistake they make is confusing j-pop groups with j-rock..
