Kicking Around
refers to an object that has become obsolete or is hardly used or hasn’t been used in a long time. what is “kicking around” is usually an annoyance or something that is often tripped over thus it is “kicked around”. sometimes it may refer to a long lost or unused object that now can be used again. something that only serves to be getting in the way for the time being.
husband: check out this extremely long list of “sh-t” i really don’t need, but want to collect anyway.
wife: don’t buy that game and “sh-t”, it will only be “kicking around” the house.
