Kinneret


the hebrew name of the sea of galilee in northern israel, located near the city of tiberias. the origin of the word ‘kinneret’ comes from the biblical word meaning ‘harp’, which is thought to represent the shape of this body of water. it is also the only freshwater source in israel. used as an israeli name for females, though not common.
