manchor
a rock climbing term derived from a combination of the words manky and anchor. a manchor is any rock climbing anchor, that is of dubious quality. manchors often consist of 50 year old fixed pins, rusty 1/4″ bolts, micro nuts, or a single tiny/rotten/dead tree trunk.
“the descent from that climb is pretty d-mn sketchy. last time we had to rappel off this manchor that only consisted of a sinlge 1/4″er and an ancient ring pin.”
