Mary Edith
a term originating in southern texas, a mary edith is a shot or pull of whiskey. although its exact origin is unknown, it is commonly heard on college campuses throughout texas. when asked why a shot or pull of whiskey was called a mary edith, the most common response was “because it’s like a slap to the face”.
