Megalomart
a megalomart is a term created by the script writers of fox’s cartoon king of the hill as a parody term for over-size big box stores. a megalomart comes into an area, destroys the local compet-tors by lower volume pricing and becomes “the store” for all working cl-ss people for miles around. the word is a multiple pun: “mega” large, “lo” low as in low prices, and megalo, from megalomanic, a person under the delusion of their supreme self-importance, and “mart” a place for shopping.
growing up, i always aspired to being a greeter at megalomart.
