mondo films
a subgenre of mock-mentary that focus on exotic customs and particularly gruesome subject matters. also referred to as “shock-mentaries” and “exploitation pseudo-doc-mentaries.”
“faces of death” is an american mondo production that talks about and depicts various methods of death and violence. while panned critically, “face of death” has become a staple of the genre and can be considered a gateway film for those with a p-ssing interest in mondo films.
