Multiple Discovery in Math
a term used by the mathematical community whenever two or more mathematicians in different parts of the world come up with the same idea at the same time.
calculus, non-euclidean geometry, and the möbius strip are all examples of multiple discovery in math: there seems to be no logical explanation why this phenomenon occurs.
