neo soul
a characteristic trait mixture of new and old, cl-ssic and modern. or it can be someone that combines traditional and modern teachings/ethics/culture/art/music.
ne-yo is a perfect example of a “neo soul.”
i would define myself as a neo soul. (new and old)
r&b that is made for a more jazzy, funk sophistacated taste. unlike r&b pop artists like beyonce, neo-soul is real. it is -ssociated with hip hop not to be confused with gangsta rap, trip hop, cl-ssic soul, and street culture. the term was originated by kedar m-ssenburg from motown records in the late 90s.
erykah badu, jill scott, floetry are neo-soul artists.
