NGEd
a gaming term, meaning to drasticly change something and in doing so make it alot worse.
the term nge itself – stands for new gaming experience, or new game engine.
the term originates from a largely popular game ‘star wars galaxies’ – developers at sony online entertainment, released an update for the online sensation that was swg pre-nge and in doing so, drasticly changed the game for the worse, angering large portions of the player base, resulting in over 80% of active subscriptions being terminated.
because of this, the term is now used to express failure when attempting to make changes to something.
“mate, these new potato chips suck…”
“yea, they got nged pretty bad”
