comin’ straight outa compton
n.w.a.: n-gg-z with att-tude
the 1st actual people who started explicit writing in rap songs. don’t be saying “oh yea kayne is the best ever!” cause he aint. it all started w/ dr. dre, eazy e, ice cube, mc ren & mella yella. straigth west coast rap! they got alot of attention on their 2nd alb-m where they said “f-ck the police” on the alb-m, “straight outta compton” the most recognized nwa alb-m. then following they had “100 miles and runnin'” and ep they did for compton city fans. shortly after, ice cube went solo and nwa relesed their 2nd big hit alb-m, “efil4zaggin/n-gg-z 4 life” some good hits like “alwayz into somethin'” “appit-te for destruction” “just don’t bite it” and many others. when this sold, eazy and dre had a money fued. the 2 hit rappers left and nwa split, w/ the members taking sides. dr. dre was the 1st to make a big hit. he did a song called “187mm/deep cover” w/ the newcomer snoop dogg. dre claims he thought it was weak but it made him the money to make “the chronic” his 1st lp. the 1st hit single came out, “f-ck wit dre day & everybody celebratin'” a diss to his once friend eazy e. but eazy wasn’t tooken down. it had been 5 years when he released his 2nd alb-m in 1993. “it’s on dre” an ep he produced w/ some of his own record label rappers. eazy’s diss to dre didnt go big but had a diss to “dre day”‘s video. in the dre day video it has someone acting like eazy w/ a sign at the compton freeway saying “will rap 4 food”, well on eazy’s “reel m-th-ph-ckin’ gs” (“reel compton city g’s” on edited version) it shows eazy w/ his whole fam and gang beating up the poser of eazy. this did not go big but was still good none the less. this alb-m went unnotice, but then he stopped the dissing for a bit and released his next ep, “5150 home 4 tha sick”. this included some great songs that would make his h-ts alb-m in 2 years, “only if you want it”, “neighborhood sniper” & “zaggin (n-gg-z) my height don’t fight” (availble on nwa’s “efil4zaggin”) it also included a song that would include the future members of bep, “merry m-th-f-ckin’ xmas”. 2 years later eazy e died of aids. a month later they released his next lp, “str8 off tha streetz of m-th-f-ckin’ compton”. once that went a hit, they released his “eternal e, greatest hits” alb-m. dre had never felt so sad. ice cube had made many alb-ms during the dre/eazy fued. everyone had felt ashamed. 4 years later dre got back on his alb-ms and released his long-awaited, “2001” (released in 1999) as this happen it somehow made an end to west coast rap. nwa had 1 last track on the “next friday” soundtrack featuring snoop dogg. the last alb-m you can expect to be real nwa style is dre’s last alb-m, “the detox” expected around 2006.

n-gg-s with att-tude, the revolutionary gangsta rap group from the mid 80’s who brought a new level of awareness of daily life in south central los angeles. famous for songs like “straight outta compton”, “f-ck the police” and “dopeman” to name a few. these songs described the things that happen in everyday life in south centralla. members included ice cube, dr. dre and the late eazy e to name a few. their music was not only very good sounding but had a message about gangs and gang violence.
“n.w.a. opened the world’s eyes to the gang happenings in south central los angeles.”
“n.w.a. is the sh-t!”
nwa, or n-gg-s with att-tude, was a very influential rap group in the 80’s.
it’s funny that dr. dre is listed below as being one of the “no talent hacks” that they paved the way for – dr. dre was actually the founder of nwa and probably the reason for their success. other members included ice cube (who now an actor), and easy {m-th-f-ckin} e (who is now dead).
nwa popularized the phrases “f-ck the police,” and “straight outta compton”.
regardless of how offensive some may find their lyrics, no one can deny their talent or their large influence on hiphop of today.
nwa is straight outta compton.
