onomatopoopa
a word whose pr-nunciation imitates the motion or activity it is describing, suggesting its source. examples include “yawn” and the archetype “p–p.” the word is a synthesis of the greek word “onoma” (name) and the english word “p–p” (verb meaning “to defecate”) thus onomatop–pa essentially means “p–py name.”
whenever i say yawn, it feels like a yawn and that’s because it’s an onomatop–pa.
