Orefice
italian for “gold digger”, not the kanye west song, but an actual gold mine worker. it is pr-nounced “or-ref-a-cha” (long a) and it is commonly mistaken for “orifice” which is a hole, or a bodily opening. do not get them mixed up. notice the spelling difference.
teacher taking attendance: ” —- orefice?”

teacher: “that’s really your last name?
student: “yes….”
