per-ce-sive per-se-siv —adjective.
a term used to describe people aware of media bias that actively seek out their own facts.
a blending of three words: person meaning people, perception meaning to be aware and pensive meaning thinking.
it’s no secret people want to convince us of their opinions, rely on their data, consider their perspective or accept them as experts, we must be percesive and put on a filter to make responsible, informed decisions that we don’t regret.
our mother was very percesive as she instructed us to avoid the temptation to accept whatever we hear first by evaluating sources and fact checking.
