b-ss guitarist and keyboardist for the pop/rock band the monkees. member of the group from 1965-1968, 1986-1989, 1996-1997, and 2001. multi-talented instrumentalist who also plays banjo, piano, guitar, organ and drums. popular figure in the new york city/ greenwich village folk scene in the early 1960s. other bands included peter tork and the new monks, the peter tork project, and the current shoe suede blues. his monkees legacy still lands him in many guest roles on sitcoms and occasional cameo roles in movies.
