pity “hi”

when someone says hi to someone else out of pity (because they feel bad not because they want to). usually it is a girl saying it to a guy. you can identify a pity “hi”by the following clues: they will raise there eyebroes/enlarge eyes, say your name after “hi”, they will smile, and it will obviously seem forced and not genuine. also after the pity “hi” the person will go back to what they were doing like nothing happened.
“hi ‘eric’!!!” said lily while smiling (looks away and acts like nothing happened) don turns to eric and says “dude that was a total pity ‘hi’!!” eric replies “i know, it’s because i told her i like her.”

pity “hi” is a sad h-llo that girls do to guys because they fell obliged or guilty for something.
