Played Out Phillie
term refering to an “out-of-style” or a simply bad hairdo. popularized in east coast cities in the late 80’s and usually refering to trendy haircuts amoungst black urban youth such as the high-top fade; the stair step; the philly fade; etc.
1. “that high-top fade is one played out phillie that only bamas would wear.”
2. customer: “can i get some ‘z’ stripes cut on the side of my head?”
barber: “son, that phillie is played out.”
