post oak bluff
a poker term meaning a bluff in which the bet is a small fraction of the pot. the concept behind the move is that an opponent will interpret the bet as indicating a strong hand and that the player betting is afraid a larger bet will not get paid off (called). the term is believed to originate in texas where the cheapest wood used to make fence-posts is known as “post oak.”
