Reaching for the money
producing an inferior product in order to cash in on a popular idea. my friend and i originally coined this term to describe mediocre sequels to popular horror films.
reaching for the money usually happens when someone, after coming up with a popular idea, is corrupted by greed and slaps together a quick sequel.
after watching h-llraiser 5, i could tell the producers were reaching for the money.
