Role Playing Disorder
an invented syndrome popular on online journaling sites (livejournal, dreamwidth, et al) where the “sufferer” claims to have multiple personalities present in one single body.
unlike clinical mpd/did, these personalities are most often take from pop culture: rock stars, anime characters, and movie heroes. less frequently seen are non-human “personalities” like vampires, dragons, and elves.
those suffering from rpd will call it “pluralism” or refer to themselves as a “multiple system” – while staunchly insisting they are perfectly sane and rejecting all claims that their condition was invented solely due to desperate need to escape the monotony of their useless lives.
