contrary to what the other definitions say, a tattoo sleeve is a literal transparent elastic sleeve with a tribal pattern that goes around your arm and looks like a tattoo. typically worn for disguise, to look cool, or as a joke.
why would i get painful permanent tattoos when i could just buy a nifty pair of tattoo sleeves?
