(n.) a plum worklife negotiating outcome whereby middle managers are permitted and equipped to sleep away the vast majority of core 8 a.m.-6 p.m. work hours in the u.s. in the luxury of their own beds. as defined, the practice originated in northern new jersey in the mid-to-late-’90s among down-sized former telecommunications industry executives who landed on their feet in the employ of asian telecom outfits.
anybody feel like trying to get in a quick nine holes this afternoon? we’ll have to wait a while to call you know who. i’m pretty sure he’s got telenapping on his calendar until 2. he has that daily conference call wtih the home office at 5 a.m. tokyo time.
when you say you are working from home but you are really falling asleep at the keyboard due to being comfortable at home. at times the napping may be replaced by watching a movie or playing video games.
