period of time when wearing killer colors, speaking like you came from the valley, and really sweet movies like goonies were created.

the greatest time of progress and invention in children’s television
the greatest decade in american culture and media. during this time, major medical advances were made, including successful antibiotics and the mri. some of the greatest bands ever were born in this 10-year era. bands such as duran duran, bon jovi, ozzy osbourne, mike and the mechanics, and tears for fears. meanwhile, other bands that had already been formed became even more popular and successful. these include chicago, genesis, the moody blues, the cars, reo speedwagon, and journey.
some of the greatest movies ever were also produced during this time period. 80s movies like ferris bueller’s day off, uncle buck, the breakfast club, beverly hills cop, rainmain, back to the future, ghostbusters, national lampoon’s christmas vacation, and glory will forever be enshrined as some of the most awesome films ever made.
i consider myself to be a “child of the 80s”, being born in february 1986. i grew up on the music of the mid and late 80s, as well as the early 90s. i still get great enjoyment from watching movies from that era. the culture, music, and tv of today sure makes me long for the 80s again; today’s culture and media is very sh-tty in my opinion.
pertaining to the years 1980-1989. being i was born in 1986, i really don’t remember much of the eighties besides really big hair. i mean, it was the 80s. and i’m from new jersey. people had enough hair to make a sh-g carpet. and of course hair was bleached blond and crazy colors. other than that, the eighties is known for the birth of mtv, punk idols like madonna, everything being “awesome” “tubular” “rad” or “bodacious”. people were into fitness also. basically, the eighties was a special time, but its kind of like a girlfriend that you had great s-x with, but was really annoying.

decade.
before the ’90s and after the ’70s. many people look back on that time with happiness, thinking of the invention of the internet and the movement in music and, lukily, hairstyles. many also look back with remorse, with a single thought “what was i thinking??”
i was born in the wrong decade. an ’80s chick sounds a lot better than sum1 born l8r than when most of their favourite music was released.
summed up best by these words: s-x. drugs. alcohol. music. technology. hair.
that was the 80’s.
the worst decade ever. with the worst music (okay, a few exceptions), the worst movies, and most definitely the worst fashions. the 80s were a horrible, horrible time that everyone except for stupid poseurs wishes they could forget.
the 80s brought us mtv, which soon became the downfall of rock and roll. who cares about quality music, as long as you look good strutting your stuff in a video?
the 80s also brought us hair metal, which i’m sure everyone with half a brain agrees, is something best left forgotten.
