Tragiversary
this term was formed after the tragic death of my good friend brittany swinford in 2006.
it is used in replacement of the word anniversary which carries a positive connotation; which the milestone of her death obviously does not carry for me. it has ended up being used every year as her death date approached and is now well known word among my friends.
this year will be the nine year tragiversary of 9/11.
