vanishing point
a road film, starring barry newman and directed by richard sarafian, and released by 20th century fox in 1971. basically, a former solider/cop/racecar driver bets his drug dealer he can get a white dodge challenger to san francisco, ca (from denver, co)in 15 hours or less… of course, the highway patrol gets p-ssed and chases him from rifle, co all the way to the border of california… along the way, he meets hippies, snake-cultists turned christian musiccians, nudists, and h-m-s-xual robbers, until the end. the story is mostly told through a series of flashbacks, showing kowalski’s (newman)life, up until the present.
