you wanna see an average north eastern american town, go to west hempstead
pretty chill town. for all the stigma about long island, west hempstead remains a down to earth, middle cl-ss american town. the people are generally friendly and every now and again come together for festivals next to the town’s landmark duckpond. west hempstead is one of those places where you can expect block parties, fireworks on july 4th and heated little league baseball. the library also has swastika shaped study carrels, weird for a town with a substantial jewish population.
