to tell the truth about something, come clean, sort out problems.
if someone told a lie then it probably feels like a great weight on their shoulders and they likely feel quite a bit guilty, especially if they have told multiple lies and lies to cover up past lies. to wishdbenie is to tell all these lies to someone or a group, lifting a great weight off you. it can be hard to pluck up the courage to wishdbenie but when you do it is very rewarding and satisfying.
