ambiwlans is welsh for ambulance, and is written on all ambulance vehicles in the welsh ambulance nhs trust.
ambiwlans is not to be confused as a ‘dumbing down’ version of the word ‘ambulance’
ambiwlans was made famous by an internet user known as jamestigerwoods who famously started a discussion on a car focussed forum complaining that society was dumbing down so far that the word ambiwlans had replaced ambulance, not knowing of the welsh origin.
