Automail

automail is a system of prosthetic limbs used in the manga/anime: fullmetal alchemist. the main character of the series, edward elric has two automail limbs, as the result of an attempt to use alchemy to bring his mother back to life. the first person introduced in the series as an automail mechanic, winry rockbell designed edward’s automail. edward often uses alchemy to transform his automail into a weapon by making it sharp (much like a knife), he and winry often get into arguments about his abuse of her mechanics.
