every time some thing is created, something comes along that tries to parody it. however, when something has grown large, bloated and into nearly universal recognition, more drastic measures must be taken.

bobobo-bo-bobobo is an anime to end all anime. it is the culmination of over 30 years of j-panese television all distilled into one psychadelic rant that mocks every iteration of of the genre. however, the producers decided to do this in the form of the old fashioned sat-rday morning serial kid’s show. in reality, it’s like the /b/ of anime.

the show format is that of a sketch comedy show that occurs at random during a prolonged, typical anime serial about an oppressive empire and one determined hero out to stop it. however, a rogue’s gallery for “wiggins” is the cast of the show and they constantly interrupt the story with skits involving anything from j-panese daytime office drama, samurai movies, yakuza comedey shows, game shows, romance movies, etc. the story is still followed throughout the show but all fights involve the use of random techniques that are either rediculously effective or just there to make the audience laugh their pants off.

the best aspect of bobobo is that it was dubbed into english using excelent casting. the american voice actors perfectly capture each character and make for flowing dialogue that contributes greatly to the comediac aspect of the show.

if anything, think of combining snl and mad tv with inuyasha and dragonball z nd make it ten times funnier and that’s bobobo. caution must be used when watching and particular attention must be payed or you will become confused and lose both the point of the episode and the desire to watch further episodes, or your keys.

one of the weirdest/awesomest animes ever. most people reject it for its sheer insanity, but if you can put up with the utter stupidity it is hilarious. the characters include a big guy with a blond afro, an orange sun/pop rock thing, and a guy made of blue jelly. it has almost no plot and is likely made by guys on 17 and a half different drugs. after all that, it’s -still- awesome.

a very very very wierd anime…makes no sense at all and has no plot…don patchi is one of the characters, he is a cross-dressing sun, the show also mocks other animes like pokemon…and thats why i like it! yay!

the weirdest but funniest anime show ever to appear on toonami. the whole show is just so random, its cute and awesome. it does parodies of other anime shows.

it’s about bobobo, don-patch, beauty, jelly jiggler, g-sser, softon, dengaku man and a lot of other good characters fighting evil and hair hunters and possibly gaining more allies. there’s a lot of fourth wall breaking (which every anime show should have) and a lot of cross-dressing.

bobobo uses his “fist of the nose hair” to attack the bad guys, his friends attack with their own powers and beauty always gets that funny “what in the world expression?” expression on her face from the insanity of this show (a lot of the characters do that, too).

too bad it only had 76 episodes. i was hoping it would be ongoing like naruto, one piece, and bleach. it needs more love. ever since it’s series finale, toonami stopped showing it. 🙁
