2. to be in a troublesome situations.

in italy we use two rude slang words, 1- “scoglionato” that derives from coglioni (same meaning of bollox, t-st-cl-s) and 2 – “scazzato” (from cazzo, p-n-s)to define the feeling of being either “annoyed to death” or “extremely unsatisfied” because of a certain situation or circ-mstance.
i guess it might be used in the same way
1 – i felt so bolloxed during the party that i preferred to get back home.
2 – “hey joe what’s up? you look bolloxed” “i am frank, things are going in the opposite way i had planned’em”
