a town 15 minutes north of auburn, ca, located between applegate and alta. colfax is known for it’s small population (roughly 2,000) and small businesses. colfax originally formed due to necessity to store cargo from the railroad that now runs through the small town. now colfax is known as a stop for people visiting tahoe or going skiing in the mountains due to the starbucks and multiple gas stations.

colfax is surrounded by forestry and natural vegetation, giving other individuals the impression that many of the colfax youth are druggies.
