when someone verbalizes something that leaves you with an extremely disturbing mental image, you may reply “dead puppies, dead puppies, dead puppies” because the mental image of dead puppies is not a disturbing as the one the speaker left you with.

me: oh mum, dead puppies, dead puppies, dead puppies
