dematha catholic high school is a private, catholic four-year college preparatory high school in hyattsville, maryland. the only high school run by the order of the most holy trinity, the school was founded in 1946.

dematha is renowned for both academics and athletics. academically, the u.s. department of education recognized dematha as a “national school of excellence” in both 1984 and 1991(most schools only receive recognition one year, if any). athletically, dematha’s records speaks for itself. in fact, sports ill-strated ranked dematha as the #2 high school athletic program in the united states in 2005, and former coach morgan wootten is a member of the national basketball hall of fame.

as an alumnus, i can say that i never played organized sports for dematha. in fact, i partic-p-ted in the national honor society and mock trial team, which won the maryland state championship the year i graduated. we accomplished this by defeating approximately 130 other high schools, all either catholic, public, co-educational, or some combination of those three.

the athletic program does not recruit its players. the school has 900 to 1,000 young men from the dc metropolitan area. naturally, they have more candidates for all-male sports teams than a smaller, co-ed school. that’s just mathematics.

additionally, i graduated with honors in 2001, and continued my education at a jesuit university and a catholic law school. i doubt either of these schools would have accepted me had i received a poor academic foundation during my high school years.

dematha is an all-male catholic high school near the university of maryland.
a good catholic high school in maryland that contrary to many of these definitions, is not all about sports. the school has two blue ribbons for academic excellence awarded by the u.s. government, once in 1984 and again in 1991. if they were so terrible academically, why would they have won this award twice?

the sports teams are great because the school is all-male. instead of a co-ed school with maybe 500 potential male athletes, dematha has 1,000 young men. it’s simple math, not recruitment.

the greatest f-cking school on the east coast in sports. is amazing in sports such as lacrosse, football, basketball, wrestling, swimming, golf, soccer, baseball, hockey, and track. see us in any sport and we’ll hand it to you, a healthy serving of -ss whooping with a win to top it off. and for all those f-gs from gonzaga, they can all suck on our nuts cause they are just jealous that they can’t seem to beat us. oh and not to ,ention on of the best college prep high schools too.

private school in dc area, that goes out and finds all their athletes, so yes they are good. raped everyone in wcac in 04, except for when they lost solidly to gc. lacrosse is probably good, but no one cares. a bunch of -sses since they are better in sports (no denying it), but all dumb as chairs.
the dematha football team didnt realize they lost, as they dont know basic math.
