a relationship that someone only goes into because they are desperate and can’t find anyone else to go out with them.
girl 1: honey, what made you go out with him in the first place?
girl 2: i was lonely and he was the first guy to ask me out in a long time. it seemed like a good idea at the time…

girl 2: no, not really.
girl 1: so it was a desperationship, then. you only went out with him because you wanted to be with someone.

when two desperate people are stuck in a relationship held together by only the sad nature of their lives and the fear of never finding anyone else.
