devine nine refers to those of color who are well educated and social economically successful.
adapted from the scholastic community, devine9 refers to the well-educated minorities with an emphasis on the black members of our society. devine9 is a term that recognizing those of color who have aspired to excellence in both scholastic apt-tude and social economic success.
etymology
the national pan-h-llenic council (nphc) is an organization made up of nine historically black sororities and fraternities, and is often referred to as the “divine 9.”
