an act of idiocy, foolishness, stupidity or just really bad luck making the affected look like an ‘-ss’ (ref. dobbin the mule from 80’s uk tv show rentaghost – mule/donkey/-ss)
after reversing a car without looking and hitting the car behind one could say ‘that was a dobbins maneuver!’
