dub mix
a remix of a track using only a limited sample of the original’s lyrics, commonly the repet-tion of a single word or line “dubbed” over an instrumental track. the term originates from the dub genre of music, which consisted of raggae tracks stripped to their b-ss and percussion and overlayed with vocal and other samples.
modern dance remixers commonly make three remixes of a track – a main (or vocal) mix, a dub mix, and an instrumental.
