Egate
after a breakup, the dumped or the dumper composes an email to their x with the intention of attaining a higher level of closure or getting back together. egate is often regrettable and tends to increase the level of messiness.
i sent maguire an egate after he dumped me and he responded with some sweet words and asked if i would like to get dinner sometime…like a date…
he broke up with me and then sent me an egate the same day! it was only to make himself feel better about his idiocy and restate that it is better for us to be apart.
