Explosions in the Sky

explosions in the sky is a four-man post-rock band out of austin, texas. they’ve released two full length alb-ms which i highly recommend. only 300 cd’s were made for their first cd but they do plan on rereleasing it in the not too distant future.

as of now they’re working on a travels in costants ep.
“have you ever heard of explosions in the sky?”

“no… are they on the radio?”

“no they’re not on the radio, they’re better than that.”

“better than that? what are you talking ’bout?”

“as in, the radio sucks b-lls.”

“what are you talking about? they play popular stuff that obviously doesn’t suck b-lls!”

“obviously you’ve watched too much mtv and fallen into the trap that is pop culture. you, my friend, have an obscured musical taste. let me give you some cd’s to listen to – this is the good stuff.”
explosions in the sky are post rock a band from texas. some of their songs include ‘snow and lights’ and ‘time stops’.

their alb-ms include ‘the earth is not a cold dead place’.

their muisc syle is similar to that of ‘g-dspeed you! black emporer’ (some people think, i think).
“are you going to the ‘explosions in the sky’ concert tonight?”
explosions in the sky are a post-rock group from austin, texas formed in 1999. their name was supposedly inspired by the sound of fireworks.

with a few exceptions, there are no lyrics in their songs. in my opinion, this makes great studying music.

some people are turned off by wordless music, but i would encourage anyone to give them a listen, or any music in the genre for that matter.

explosions in the sky has recorded four studio alb-ms and one ep, as well as the majority of the soundtrack to friday night lights, an excellent sports drama.

i have seen them in austin once, and plan to again later this year.

a good post-rock band that does instrumental for the majority of its music.

their alb-m “the earth is not a cold dead place” was okay, and im not trying to be a music sn-b by any means, but some of the tracks did get a bit repet-tive…
explosions in the sky are great, they just need to diversify a bit more…
