flashback wig
a wig/hairpiece used on film or tv during a scene that is set in the past. its purpose is to show the audience that “this scene happened in the past! look! he has moe haiiiir!”
in the second scene of the first episode of the show, we see a flashback to jack’s days as a surgeon. he is wearing a really overdone flashback wig.
