the small specks of food and/or debris that your crawling children will sample with abandon, giving no heed to whether it is of ingestible quality or not. e.g. hair, gr-ss, bugs, dog food, screws, plastic.
i had not swept or vac-med in a week, thus the baby had a healthy sampling of floor grit .
