coming from the greek root tzelepoglou, meaning son of a shephard, gelep is representative of a free spirited youth who is not only well rounded, but excels at most things in life while maintaining a euphoric state of mind. calling someone gelep would be a complement, similar to the nonliteral meaning of the words pimp, playa, gangsta, or all star.
