gut thunder
the sudden, uncomfortable, and uncontrollably audible rumble emanating from the abdominal region, usually signaling the imminence of a trip to the toilet. can be disturbing to others, and very embarr-ssing for the afflicted party. not to be confused with gut storm, which usually follows or accompanies gut thunder.
all through the presentation, someone in the back row had a mad case of gut thunder and made it difficult for anyone else to enjoy the show.
