a music genre popularized in brooklyn in the early twenty-teens in which spirited, if not talented, bands celebrate the work of others through hard-charging covers. good for drinking, fighting and singing along.
examples: rolling stones cover band mick’s jaguar. pink floyd cover band ch-nk floyd. j-panese quintet the hard nips.
there was a hatchet rock showcase at the merc last night. i got wasted and sang along to gnr tunes.
