Kawelo


is a family line of kauaian chiefs dating within the kingdom of hawaii. kawelomahamahaia was the 16th alii aimoku o’ kaua’i. his son and future descendants would carry on the name of kawelo.
there are kawelos that are named in legends on the islands of oahu and kauai, but one only was the strong, the mighty warrior who destroyed a gigantic enemy who used trees for spears.
