Losing your ears
a phrase used to express one losing their virginity or growing up.
it refers to the cat ears in certain animes (ex: loveless) that most children have. it is said that these ears fall off once the child loses their virginity thus growing up and seen to as an adult by society.
ruthie told mahfuza that ‘losing your ears’ was bad, but she didn’t listen.
