to repair something to a “useable” state (as opposed to properly repairing) through the use of wire, bailing twine, duct tape, coat hangers, or similar items commonly found in a junk drawer or in the trunk of a ’74 coupe deville. this is a politically correct version of other, more derrogatory slang.
